SkatingApp

SkatingApp is a collection of applications for managing, timing, and presenting speed skating events.

  • SkatingApp manages and times speed skating events.
  • SkatingApp Scoreboard displays schedules, starting orders, and results.
  • SkatingApp PhotoFinish synchronizes FinishLynx times and images with the SkatingApp database.

Requirements

SkatingApp supports 64-bit Windows 11. The installer includes the required .NET runtime. Depending on the application and workflow, you may also need:

  • Access to a supported Microsoft SQL Server database.
  • Device drivers and software for equipment such as ALGE Timy, MYLAPS X2, and FinishLynx.
  • Network access to configured databases, event folders, devices, and update feeds.

Installation

SkatingApp, Scoreboard, and PhotoFinish use separate signed per-user installers and update independently. Download the current .NET Core installers from Download SkatingApp Installers.

If this workstation currently has an MSIX installation, complete Move From MSIX To VeloPack before installing the replacement. Contact [email protected] for installer access.

Setup

SkatingApp uses MS SQL Server as a database server. The setup section of this documentation explains in detail how to setup your database server and SkatingApp before you run SkatingApp for the first time. The following steps are explained in the setup.
